Kilnboard API Reference

*Version 2.3 · Published by Emberlane Studio Software · Updated May 18, 2026*

Overview

The Kilnboard API lets developers schedule, monitor and log kiln firings for ceramic studios and pottery schools. Use it to reserve kiln time, stream temperature progress to a studio dashboard, or build a booking app for members. Every firing is tied to a specific kiln and a cone-based firing program.

Authentication

Create a key in the Kilnboard dashboard under Settings → Developer keys. Send it in the `Authorization` header on every request. Keys are shown once, so store them in a secrets manager and never in client-side code.

```bash
curl https://api.kilnboard.example/v2/kilns \
• -H "Authorization: Bearer kb_live_7Hq2xT9mWc41"
The prompt
Create a Doc API reference for the Kilnboard API, which lets developers schedule, monitor and log kiln firings for ceramic studios and pottery schools. Include an overview, authentication, base URL, rate limits, four endpoints (GET /kilns, POST /firings, GET /firings/{firing_id}, DELETE /firings/{firing_id}) each with method, parameters table, example request and response in code blocks, error codes, and a changelog.
Make it yours
  • Change the details in the prompt to fit developers.
  • For example, change it so that it documents a greenhouse irrigation API for commercial growers and the four endpoints are zones, schedules, sensor readings and pause commands.
  • Ask for edits in plain words: tone, colors, length, layout or data.
  • Share the result by link or export it when you are done.
